On March 25, UIC ASDA Education committee hosted a Lunch and Learn session with Wendy Swanson from Johnson and Johnson. Mrs. Swanson is the dental school account manager of Listerine oral care products, and represents the dental and hygiene schools in the Midwest region. The topic of the Lunch and Learn was The Scientific Safety & Efficacy of Antimicrobial Mouthrinses. Students learned about the diversity of mouthrinses and interdental aids offered by the Johnson and Johnson brand, as well as the product’s history and scientific basis for efficacy. Research reported that combining brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash contribute to a better gingival health. We had a great turnout for the event and students enjoyed both the catered lunch from Pompeii as well as the lecture. As a follow-up to the talk, Mrs. Swanson also sent us links for educational and support programs for dental students that Listerine offers.
